Train to Chamonix from the UK

Travelling to Chamonix from the UK by train is not a good option.   If using public transport, air travel will nearly always be quicker and less expensive.

There are several routes
1. Eurostar from London St Pancras International to Paris (Nord).   Cross Paris to Gare du Lyon and travel by SNCF via Annecy & Saint Gervais Les Bains to Chamonix.

2. Eurostar from London St Pancras International to Lille.   SNCF from Lille (Flanders) to Chamonix, via Lyon (Part Dieu) & Saint Gervais Les Bain in about 8hrs30

3. Eurostar from London St Pancras International to Paris (Nord).   Cross Paris to Paris Austerlitz. This SNCF route allows for a overnight travel with a sleeping car and arrival in Chamonix at about 10.30am. 4. Eurostar from London Waterloo to Paris (Nord). Cross Paris to Gare du Lyon and travel by SNCF on a TGV in 3 hours to BELLEGARDE SUR VALSERIVE about 1hr 20 from Chamonix by road. 5. Eurostar from London Waterloo to Paris (Nord). Cross Paris to Gare du Lyon and travel by SNCF on a TGV in 4 hours to Geneva Airport and take a Transfer to Chamonix Train to Chamonix From Geneva Airport The Swiss have an excellent rail network SBB, with major stations in Geneva and Zurich airports. However these do not provide easy access points to Chamonix. We advise a transfer by road, but if you are set on using the train, cross Geneva to the Eaux-Vives rail station and take a french SNCF train to Annemasse or Roche-sur-Foron. Change here for Le Fayet/St. Gervais Les Bains. Change here onto the Mont Blanc Express and a panoramic ride to Chamonix. Journeys will take between 2 hours 51 minutes & 3 hours 25 minutes. The SBB timetable is better than the SNCF timetable. The latter does not provide times and routing from Geneva Airport, only from Eaux-Vives.
