Location
This modern, traditionally constructed 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom chalet with 80sq metres of living area in Les Masses, is the perfect location for summer or winter holidays. A delightfully peaceful location in the Swiss canton of Valais, bordering on France and Italy, the chalet offers outstanding views of the Alps (including Dente Blanche and the Matterhorn) and into the valley below. The surrounding area is dotted with villages that are like a trip back in time, with many of the old timber properties dating back over four hundred years. Les Masses is located in the 4 Valleys ski region, one of the best skiing regions in Europe, with over 400km of runs of all difficulty grades. In summer the well marked network of walking and hiking routes allow one to enjoy the local wildlife, fauna and the delightful scenery of the Swiss mountain countryside. The cultural city of Montreux on Lake Geneva is less than one hour car drive from Les Masses. Nearest airports; Sion (regional), Geneva (international) Accommodation The chalet was constructed in 1996 by a local builder and is built and furnished to the highest standard. The chalet has three bedrooms and can sleep a maximum of eight people. The two main bedrooms have double beds, in the third there is a pair of bunk beds and a sofa bed in the lounge provides sleeping accommodation for a further two people if required. The property includes a traditional log burning feature fire place, Italian tiling downstairs with berber carpeting upstairs, double glazing, completely equipped kitchen constructed of solid mountain pine, built in corner dining area, built in wardrobes in two bedrooms, oil fired central heating and hot water boiler. The two bathrooms are fully tiled and include shower, toilet, wash basin. The private south facing terrace with stunning alpine views affords long hours of sunshine - ideal for relaxing or recovering from the day's activities. | Les Masses has a restaurant and bar in the village and a small shop selling essentials at reasonable prices. In the neighbouring villages, within ten minutes drive, there are supermarkets offering a wide range of good quality produce and supplies. The local food and wine is particularly recommended.
